Diamond H Taking Charge × Four Oaks Fiesta at Diamond H
Caleb was imported from America when he was a small puppy. He comes from a very kind breeder, who I had visited in Texas beforehand to get to know her and all of her beautiful dogs in person.
During my visit, I fell in love with Caleb's parents "Charger" and "Fiesta" and really wanted to have a puppy out of this mating – which was never planned, because both parents were solid tris! But his breeder "Amy" and I got along so well that she took the risk of getting an all black litter just for me (it was unsure if Charger was red factored), and Fiesta, who has a natural bobtail, actually had one black tri male (born as the last one out of six puppies) who was one of two puppies with a long tail, which was also confirmed by a genetic test: Caleb is NBT negative.
Caleb's character is just as special as the story behind him. He is amazingly cute and spreads nothing but love. You cannot describe it at all, because his nature is so unique. His breeder also said: “He is so different than the other pups. They are all fun and sweet but it’s like his sweetness comes from within this great big heart that has nothing but love.” – and that's exactly how it is! Caleb is throughout sweet and extremely cuddly and affectionate, he follows you everywhere and always wants to be there (without being obtrusive!) to make you happy and share his love with you. He is an absolutely joyful and calm boy that always brings you and any visitor a gift. He has such a cute personality that you just want to hug him all the time. Caleb constantly has a smile on his face and never "goes crazy" or needs to be disciplined, because he always behaves well.
His greatest love, besides our two cats, are children of all ages, but especially boys between 5-12 years old. When he hears or sees children somewhere, even if he's never met them and they are screaming, you can literally feel his heart jumping with joy, hoping he will be able to get petted by them and carefully lick their faces. But he also loves older children and adults, he basically loves every stranger he meets, like they (including the veterinarian team) were his best friends. And of course he also gets along with any other animal and strange dogs.
I am convinced Caleb is a free spirit from another dimension where only love and peace exists, because he is so deeply relaxed in every way and situation – it's unreal! But because of his extreme serenity he needs a little bit longer to understand things, he is not as smart as the others, he doesn't think for himself, he just chills and relaxes. Although he doesn't have much will-to-please, he does really well on sheep.
He is totally fearless and easy-going in everyday life, no matter where you take him and what's going on around him. Caleb is definitely not a daredevil or bully, but an absolutely loyal companion who remains deeply relaxed even during thunderstorms or on New Year's Eve.
Caleb is a dog that you can entrust to anyone's care, because you wouldn't have to worry about his behaviour, he will just follow and obey, even if you are a total stranger to him. Which doesn't mean he's not devoted to his family! He is just full of trust towards people and also very reliable.
Caleb is living with good friends in Taunusstein since August 2019. He still is "in the neighborhood" and we see him at the dog training facility every week.
