Malia came all the way from America when she was a littel puppy. She comes from one of the best known and most successful show lines and has a lot of quality that she also inherits to her puppies.
Malia also lives up to her name because she has an absolutely calm, kind and gentle nature. She is incredibly athletic, always happy and friendly and often makes you smile with her cuteness. You really can't be angry with her because she has absolutely no "bad intentions", she is always nice and good.
She doesn't asks for attention or cuddles, she simply waits until you give it to her – she still likes to be petted though! What's also less marked is the the typical will-to-please, she likes to work (and get treats), but doesn't ask for it. Nevertheless, she has a good posture when herding sheep, goes on the flanks by herself and is easy to block. She does not have a hunting instinct, but instead has a strong play drive. She is most happy when she can retrieve sticks on walks or when we meet a dog that runs after her. Because of her incredible speed and agility, it is often impossible for other dogs to catch up with Malia.
Malia is extremely attentive, has a top sense of smell and finds her stick everywhere, even if they are in a tree above her! She obeys extremely well and usually reacts even before you have finished the signal. She doesn't question orders and you can always rely on her, both in obedience, and in behavior.
Malia has experienced a lot with me from an early age and is always relaxed and balanced, no matter where we are or what is going on around her. Whether in the car, bus or train, on a boat tour, in a restaurant, at a large event with hotel accommodation or on other trips and excursions – she takes it easy and does not attract any negative attention. You can take her anywhere and leave her alone without worries, she will lie down, relax and sleep, even if it is a strange or noisy environment and many people are around it, she does not get nervous or excited. When the cardiologist listened to her heartbeat before the cardiac ultrasound, he said that her heartbeat was so slow that she might have an enlarged heart... or is just deeply relaxed, which he considered unlikely. In the end, he was convinced of the contrary, because Malia's heart is in perfect condition, she is just extremly relaxed – even when she visits a strange veterinary clinic for the first time.
She is just as relaxed and easy to get along with other dogs or animals. She is very considerate and patient. She also lovingly cares for her puppies and is an exemplary mother. Except she really acquiesces everything her puppies do and does not reprimand them – for Malia, puppies are just great playmates. Her toys also get cleaned carefully and never destroyed. Malia is simply lovely and, despite her gentle nature, is not sensitive to noises, not even during a thunderstorm or on New Year's Eve.
